About this role

Senior Operations Training Instructor at Constellation Energy, the nation's largest producer of clean energy. Design, develop, and deliver performance-based nuclear reactor operator training programs for licensed Reactor Operators (RO) and Non-Licensed Operators (NLO). Maintain mastery of nuclear operations, training methodologies, and regulatory compliance while supporting fleet-wide training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate plant-specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs using Constellation's systematic approach to training model
  • Coordinate and conduct performance-based Reactor Operator (RO) and Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs
  • Maintain current training programs incorporating INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, NRC Bulletins, procedure changes, and training effectiveness reports
  • Prepare trainee examinations and conduct evaluations in classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments
  • Conduct counseling sessions with trainees and develop individualized training programs based on evaluation results
  • Support facility and fleet initiatives including business projects, refuel outage support, and emergency preparedness duties
  • Participate in NRC and INPO audits and prepare responses to audit findings
  • Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and documentation
  • Achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of hire
  • Perform emergency response duties, departmental coverage, and outage support as directed

Qualifications

  • 6+ years as Equipment Operator in test reactor, commercial, industrial, or military power plant environment, OR
  • Associate's degree in technical discipline, education, or training with 4+ years nuclear technical background, OR
  • Current or previous licensed Reactor Operator or SRO certification with 4+ years related power plant operator experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) or related science with 3+ years nuclear technical background, OR
  • Current or previous SRO license
  • Minimum access requirement or unescorted access eligibility with favorable medical examination

Desired

  • Experience in commercial nuclear training
  • Knowledge of and experience with systematic approach to training (SAT)

Location

Onsite at nuclear facility; must be available for emergency response, call-outs, and outage support activities outside normal departmental duties.
