Sr. Operations Instructor & OPS Instructor
About this role
Constellation seeks Senior Operations Instructors and Operations Instructors to develop, deliver, and evaluate nuclear reactor operator training programs at commercial nuclear facilities. These roles require mastery of nuclear operations, training design methodology, and regulatory compliance to drive plant performance through systematic, performance-based training delivery aligned with NRC requirements and INPO standards.
Responsibilities
- —Coordinate and conduct performance-based Reactor Operator (RO) and Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs in accordance with Constellation's systematic approach to training model and NRC regulatory requirements
- —Design, develop, implement, and evaluate plant-specific nuclear licensed operations training programs incorporating INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, NRC Bulletins, procedure changes, and training effectiveness data
- —Prepare and administer trainee examinations and conduct evaluations in classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments
- —Conduct counseling sessions with trainees, evaluate results, and develop individualized training programs as needed
- —Maintain current knowledge of plant operations and ensure training programs reflect design changes, regulatory updates, and backfit information
- —Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports documenting training program activities
- —Participate in NRC, INPO, and management audits; prepare responses to audit findings
- —Support business initiatives, project management, refuel outage activities, emergency preparedness, and special projects
Qualifications
- —High school diploma/GED with 6 years of related power plant operator experience (test reactor, commercial, industrial, or military), OR
- —Associate's degree in technical discipline, education, or training with 4 years of related power plant operator experience, OR
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) or related science/education/training with 2 years of related power plant operator experience
- —Meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.5.4) Standard for Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants
- —Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements and pass favorable medical examination per position duties
Desired
- —Current or previous licensed Reactor Operator (RO) or Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification
- —Nuclear technical background
