Shop Technician II - Quality
About this role
Shop Technician II performing inspections, examinations, and tests on nuclear components and assemblies according to documented procedures. This individual contributor role ensures product conformity to specifications across mechanical, electrical, and visual inspection categories.
Responsibilities
- —Perform inspections, examinations, and tests according to documented procedures and industry practices
- —Plan inspections, examinations, and tests; set up and maintain surveillance of related equipment
- —Train lower-level personnel on inspection procedures
- —Report, evaluate validity, and determine acceptability of inspection, examination, and test results
- —Determine calibration status and verify measuring/test equipment (M&TE) is in proper condition before use
- —Ensure inspection, examination, and test procedures are approved before use
- —Physically measure products using 3D Coordinate Measuring Machines and 2D measurement systems
- —Operate electrical test equipment and test panels
- —Perform visual inspections per design documents for defects; verify crimp, solder, and assembly work per specifications
- —Manage work related to deliveries including scanning/reviewing inspection files, completing packaging and labeling
- —Complete site-specific safety training (Electrical Safety, Radiation Safety, Hazards Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lifting/Handling, PPE Use)
- —Resolve problems and seek opportunities for continuous improvement
Qualifications
High School degree or equivalent; 2+ years relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining, or inspection skills; specific knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawing or machining plus required mathematics; United States Department of Labor Journeyman Certification; Qualification and certification for Inspection to ANSI N45.2.6; Certification to Visual VT-1
Desired
Mechanical inspection experience with electrical parts; IPC-610 and IPC-620 certifications and experience
Location
New Stanton, PA facility; on-site 5 days per week; anchor position
