Shop Technician II - Quality Inspection
About this role
Perform inspections, examinations, and tests of nuclear components on Westinghouse production lines. Conduct routine analyses of in-process materials and finished products to ensure conformity to specifications using mechanical and electrical inspection equipment, including 3D Coordinate Measuring Machines and electrical test panels.
Responsibilities
- —Perform inspections, examinations, and tests according to documented procedures and industry practices
- —Physically measure products with measuring and testing equipment; set up and operate 3D Coordinate Measuring Machines and 2D measurement systems
- —Operate electrical test equipment and test panels; perform visual inspections per design documents for defects
- —Conduct crimp, solder, and assembly verifications per design specifications and standards
- —Manage work related to outgoing deliveries including scanning/reviewing inspection files against customer requirements; complete packaging and labeling requirements
- —Determine calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment and verify proper condition
- —Verify inspection, examination, and test procedures are approved; proactively resolve problems and seek continuous improvement opportunities
- —Complete site-specific safety training including Electrical Safety, Radiation Safety, Hazards Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lifting/Handling, and PPE Use
Qualifications
High School degree or equivalent; 0–2 years relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining, or inspection skills; knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawing plus required mathematics; qualification and certification for Inspection to ANSI N45.2.6; Visual VT-1 Certification
Desired
Mechanical experience with inspection of electrical parts; United States Department of Labor Journeyman Certification
Location
New Stanton, PA facility; on-site 5 days per week; anchor position
