Shop Technician II (EMA)
About this role
Assemble, troubleshoot, test, and maintain electronic components and circuitry for nuclear energy equipment at Westinghouse's New Stanton, PA facility. This anchor on-site role supports electrical, instrumentation & control (I&C), and mechanical assembly, repair, testing, and refurbishment operations for nuclear reactor equipment.
Responsibilities
- —Assemble, troubleshoot, test, and maintain circuitry and electronic components according to engineering instructions and technical manuals
- —Read and interpret semi-complex mechanical and electrical drawings, codes, schematics, blueprints, and Bills of Material
- —Operate electrical and electronic test equipment and interpret results
- —Plan, lay out, assemble, and fabricate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
- —Perform electrical, mechanical, and visual inspections on equipment and components
- —Record data accurately and follow production and maintenance job procedures
- —Coach, train, and mentor technicians at equal or lower position levels
- —Develop, maintain, and modify equipment maintenance and mobilization plans
- —Collaborate with planners and supervisors on scheduling, resource milestones, and budget goals
- —Use hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment
- —Identify and resolve problems proactively, seeking continuous improvement opportunities
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining, or inspection skills.
Desired
ANSI N45.2.6 Inspection qualification and certification; US Department of Labor Journeyman certifications.
Location
On-site, 5 days per week at Westinghouse New Stanton, PA facility. Full-time anchor position requiring on-site presence.
