About this role
Quality control technician performing inspections, examinations, and tests of nuclear components and finished products at Westinghouse's New Stanton, PA facility. Responsible for verifying conformity to design specifications and nuclear industry standards, operating precision measurement equipment (CMM, 2D systems, electrical test panels), and ensuring all inspection procedures and equipment calibration are current before use.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, examinations, and tests of nuclear components per documented procedures and industry practices; report results and evaluate validity/acceptability
- Operate precision measurement equipment including 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), 2D measurement systems, and electrical test panels; verify measuring and test equipment (M&TE) calibration status before use
- Perform mechanical inspections including physical measurements, visual inspections per design documents, and verification of crimp, solder, and assembly work per specifications
- Inspect for defects; manage work related to deliveries including scanning/reviewing inspection files, packaging, and labeling
- Verify inspection, examination, and test procedures are approved before use; resolve problems and identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Complete site-specific safety training (Electrical Safety, Radiation Safety, Hazards Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lifting/Handling, PPE) and maintain applicable certifications
Preferred qualifications
Mechanical experience with electrical parts inspection; IPC-610 and IPC-620 certifications and experience
Location, schedule, and travel
New Stanton, PA; on-site 5 days per week; anchor position (required on-site)
