Shop Technician I (EMA)
About this role
Shop Technician I supporting Instrumentation and Control (I&C) operations at Westinghouse's New Stanton, PA facility. You will assemble, troubleshoot, test, and maintain electronic components and circuitry for nuclear energy equipment using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment. Work directly with engineering instructions, technical manuals, and electrical/mechanical drawings to support the refurbishment and repair of nuclear safety-critical assemblies.
Responsibilities
- —Assemble, troubleshoot, test, and maintain circuitry and electronic components for nuclear equipment according to engineering instructions and technical manuals
- —Interpret and work with mechanical and electrical drawings, codes, schematics, blueprints, and procedures; record data in required forms
- —Apply knowledge of basic electronic theory and components to build or repair assemblies
- —Install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, connectors, or soldering
- —Operate electrical and electronic test equipment
- —Support electrical/I&C/mechanical assembly, repair, testing, and refurbishment of equipment, components, or tooling systems for nuclear applications
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining, or inspection skills; specific knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawing, or machining.
Location
New Stanton, PA facility; on-site 5 days per week; anchor position.
