Senior Supplier Quality Manager, APx Supply Chain Major Mechanical Equipment
About this role
Lead a multinational team of Supplier Quality Engineers ensuring externally sourced mechanical equipment meets Westinghouse's nuclear quality standards. Oversee supplier quality across multiple work breakdown structures (WBS3, WBS6, WBS7, WBS8, WBS16) with responsibility for strategic leadership, team development, and nuclear industry compliance across America and Europe.
Responsibilities
- —Provide oversight and direction to a distributed team of Quality Engineers and technologists in America and Europe
- —Recruit, develop, and mentor new talent including interns, co-ops, and entry-level engineers; create individual development plans
- —Ensure team qualification and training to support Supplier Selection, Assessment, and Quality Program Development activities
- —Coordinate with external suppliers to maintain Quality Assurance Programs aligned with nuclear industry standards and contractual obligations
- —Direct investigations and compliance assessments verifying adherence to technical specifications, inspection procedures, and non-destructive testing standards
- —Oversee execution of Supplier Oversight activities (Witness and Hold Points) during production processes
- —Collect, analyze, and summarize engineering data and quality trends for management reporting
- —Drive best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project performance
- —Engage with external customers, partners, and senior WEC management on quality matters
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field); 8+ years of leadership experience in roles of growing responsibility managing engineering or technical teams; nuclear industry experience under Safety Related Requirements (e.g., NQA-1)
