About this role
Operating Supervisor at Callaway Energy Center, a 1,193 MW pressurized water reactor in mid-Missouri. Oversee safe, legal, and efficient nuclear operations while managing approximately 10 employees including Reactor Operators and Operations Technicians. Maintain strict operational and safety standards in compliance with NRC regulations.
Responsibilities
- —Manage and direct a team of approximately 10 employees including Reactor Operators and Operations Technicians
- —Direct Reactor Operators in the control room performing procedures to maneuver and operate the plant
- —Supervise Operations Technicians in the field performing local system operations and testing
- —Administer the Workman's Protection Assurance Program
- —Train and develop crew members in reactor operations and nuclear safety protocols
- —Interface with all nuclear departments, internal company personnel, and external personnel to support work on plant equipment and systems
- —Maintain and promote positive behaviors in commitment to excellence, teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, and stewardship
- —Support performance improvement initiatives such as assessments, benchmarks, and the corrective action program
- —Actively participate in training to develop and broaden the skills of the workforce
- —May be assigned to rotational positions in work control or as a training instructor
- —Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Radiological Emergency Response Plan
Qualifications
- —High School Diploma or equivalent
- —One of the following: Currently Licensed Reactor Operator (RO) or Licensed Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) with one or more years of experience; Previously Licensed RO or SRO at a commercial reactor with at least 1.5 years of experience; Qualified Reactor Operator (RO), Engineering Watch Supervisor (EWS), Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor (PPWS), or Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) on a military reactor for a minimum of 2 years; Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1.5 years of nuclear power plant experience; or Previously or Currently Certified Senior Reactor Operator with at least 2 years of experience
- —Good leadership, decision-making, communication and human relations skills
- —Must pass First Line Supervisor Test and obtain recommended status
- —Permanent residence within sixty highway miles of Callaway Energy Center
- —Security screening required for facility access
Location
Callaway Energy Center, mid-Missouri. Rotating shift, office/plant environment. Additional hours and callouts required during refueling outages and emergency situations.
