Required qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Five or more years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls. Good decision-making, leadership, communication, and human relations skills. Must pass First Line Supervisor Test and obtain recommended status. Must establish and maintain permanent residence within 60 highway miles of Callaway Energy Center. Security screening clearance for Callaway Energy Center access.
About this role
Supervise instrumentation and control technicians at Callaway Energy Center (PWR, Ameren) in mid-Missouri. Direct maintenance, calibration, testing, and corrective work on instruments and controls systems to ensure safe and reliable nuclear plant operations. Report to Maintenance Department management.
Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise I&C technicians on maintenance, replacement, installation, and removal of equipment during normal and outage operations
- Oversee calibration, testing, and corrective maintenance of instruments and controls per plant procedures and OQAM
- Supervise maintenance personnel in predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and surveillance testing
- Plan, schedule, and assign work tasks; coordinate with Planning & Scheduling department
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable procedures, policies, and quality standards
- Control measuring and test equipment per Callaway Energy Center Operating Quality Assurance Manual (OQAM)
- Verify documentation of completed work activities is complete and accurate
- Ensure safe and efficient use of manpower and resources while maintaining high workmanship standards
- Train personnel in proper work practices and equipment maintenance
- Perform special studies and projects assigned by Maintenance Department management
- Fulfill Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties including response to assigned ERO facilities within required timeframes
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in instrumentation from an accredited institution. Nuclear power plant operations or I&C experience. Experience as a Training Instructor.
Location, schedule, and travel
Callaway Energy Center, mid-Missouri. Standard day or evening shift; additional hours, callouts, and rotating shifts required during refueling outages and emergent plant activities. Office/plant environment.
