About this role

Senior Performance Improvement Specialist at TerraPower leading the design, implementation, and oversight of corrective action and performance improvement programs for advanced nuclear reactor development. This full-time exempt role reports to the Performance Improvement Manager and requires deep expertise in ASME NQA-1 standards and nuclear industry compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, maintenance, and implementation of Performance Improvement standard operating documents (SODs) aligned with organizational goals and compliance standards
  • Analyze and interpret corrective action data and performance metrics, providing detailed reports and strategic recommendations to senior management
  • Conduct advanced analysis of performance data to identify systemic issues and trends using CAP data, self-assessments, benchmarking, operating experiences, and performance indicators
  • Lead CAP investigations and condition screenings, guiding teams to provide structured insights and implement long-term corrective actions
  • Serve as mentor and subject matter expert for cross-functional teams, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence culture
  • Lead development and refinement of performance indicators aligned with organizational objectives
  • Oversee coordination and preparation of materials for Performance Improvement and CAP review board meetings
  • Provide executive-level weekly and monthly status reports synthesizing complex data into strategic insights
  • Independently lead teams conducting comprehensive cause analysis tasks
  • Direct initiatives to enhance Performance Improvement software and tools in collaboration with stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in nuclear performance improvement or corrective action program work environment
  • Root cause analysis or cause analysis experience
  • Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) and/or Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
  • Familiarity with industry groups like Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO)
  • Experience with Confluence, JIRA, INPO IRIS, and Devonway
  • Strong customer service and training skills
