About this role
Senior Performance Improvement Specialist at TerraPower leading the design, implementation, and oversight of corrective action and performance improvement programs for advanced nuclear reactor development. This full-time exempt role reports to the Performance Improvement Manager and requires deep expertise in ASME NQA-1 standards and nuclear industry compliance.
Responsibilities
- —Lead development, maintenance, and implementation of Performance Improvement standard operating documents (SODs) aligned with organizational goals and compliance standards
- —Analyze and interpret corrective action data and performance metrics, providing detailed reports and strategic recommendations to senior management
- —Conduct advanced analysis of performance data to identify systemic issues and trends using CAP data, self-assessments, benchmarking, operating experiences, and performance indicators
- —Lead CAP investigations and condition screenings, guiding teams to provide structured insights and implement long-term corrective actions
- —Serve as mentor and subject matter expert for cross-functional teams, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence culture
- —Lead development and refinement of performance indicators aligned with organizational objectives
- —Oversee coordination and preparation of materials for Performance Improvement and CAP review board meetings
- —Provide executive-level weekly and monthly status reports synthesizing complex data into strategic insights
- —Independently lead teams conducting comprehensive cause analysis tasks
- —Direct initiatives to enhance Performance Improvement software and tools in collaboration with stakeholders
Qualifications
- —BS/BA in applicable field (math, science, engineering, or business administration)
- —Advanced knowledge of ASME NQA-1 requirements for corrective action programs
- —Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI)
- —Strong written and oral technical communication skills
- —Exceptional attention to detail
- —Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills
- —Ability to work independently and in team environments
- —Strong organizational and time management skills
- —High degree of trust, integrity, and respect for teamwork
Desired
- —10+ years' experience in nuclear performance improvement or corrective action program work environment
- —Root cause analysis or cause analysis experience
- —Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) and/or Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
- —Familiarity with industry groups like Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO)
- —Experience with Confluence, JIRA, INPO IRIS, and Devonway
- —Strong customer service and training skills
