Senior Mechanical Engineer
About this role
Senior Mechanical Engineer at Westinghouse supporting nuclear facility manufacturing and chemical processing operations. Lead design and implementation of new systems, ensure 10 CFR 50 and NRC regulatory compliance, and drive innovation in equipment and processes for nuclear power plant support.
Responsibilities
- —Provide direct technical engineering support for manufacturing and chemical operations and maintenance
- —Lead design and implementation of new or modified systems, including specification of processes and equipment designs
- —Oversee installation, fabrication, testing and qualification of new equipment or processes
- —Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and NRC regulatory requirements
- —Identify root causes of system failures and recommend resolutions
- —Analyze and recommend technological innovations in materials, machinery, manufacturing, and chemical processing techniques
- —Perform engineering calculations and Finite Element Analyses using ANSYS
- —Lead capital projects across multiple departments with project charters, schedules, work breakdown structures, and budgets
- —Develop and document engineering specifications, drawings, and design documentation
Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or chemical plant operations; Proficient in AutoDesk or Solidworks and ANSYS; Working knowledge of ASME codes
