Reliability Engineer
About this role
Reliability Engineer at Westinghouse responsible for assessing equipment quality, robustness, and reliability across nuclear component manufacturing processes. Champion design for reliability and maintainability, optimize preventive/predictive maintenance programs, and guide decisions to reduce downtime and support clean energy production.
Responsibilities
- —Champion Design for Reliability and Maintainability and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis
- —Review and establish preventive-predictive maintenance programs (lubrication, vibration analysis, thermography, shock-pulse, motor current analysis) to improve equipment OEE and reduce maintenance downtime
- —Provide reliability guidance for capital and improvement projects; support shutdown planning and coordination of maintenance activities
- —Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA, 5-Whys) and FMEA for critical equipment failures including physical failure analysis
- —Lead Kaizen events focused on equipment OEE improvement and determine critical spare parts and stocking levels
- —Establish and report KPIs: MTBF, MTTR, maintenance costs; revise and implement test plans for equipment validation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. 5+ years' experience in predictive and preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and mechanical integrity best practices in manufacturing, chemical, or industrial facilities. Ability to work across multiple production areas and lead improvement teams while maintaining connection to technical organizations.
