About this role
Westinghouse RS technician role supporting maintenance, testing, and deployment of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment for nuclear power plant outages worldwide. Repair and commission advanced remote-controlled technologies including milling systems, drilling equipment, EDM systems, bolting systems, and remotely operated tools used in demanding nuclear environments.
Responsibilities
- —Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and corrective repair on specialized equipment (milling, drilling, EDM, bolting systems, remote-operated tools) ensuring operational reliability and quality compliance
- —Participate in commissioning, testing, and parameter development of newly developed equipment with Product and Development Engineers
- —Manufacture, modify, assemble mechanical and electrical components; verify functionality prior to deployment
- —Install, configure, and troubleshoot software on computers, control units, and industrial systems; support network configuration for equipment operation
- —Operate specialized equipment during nuclear power plant outages; support on-site execution while ensuring safety, quality, and operational compliance
- —Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams; provide field feedback for product improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- —Technical expertise in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment
- —Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform corrective maintenance
- —Experience assembling and manufacturing mechanical and electrical components
- —Proficiency with software installation and configuration on industrial control systems
- —Knowledge of safety, quality, and operational requirements in technical environments
- —Ability to follow established procedures and technical documentation
Desired
- —Experience with remote-operated equipment or robotics
- —Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and practices
- —Experience with EDM, milling, drilling, or bolting systems
- —Knowledge of network configuration and industrial communication systems
- —Field operations or on-site technical support experience
- —Experience working in international or multi-team environments
