RS Maintenance Technician
About this role
Maintenance Technician for Westinghouse Reactor Services, based in Villejust, France. You will prepare and execute maintenance, repair, and replacement of nuclear equipment at CNPE (French nuclear power plants) and European sites, including reactor vessel operations, internals replacement, stress corrosion treatment, and fuel inspection in radiological environments. This role requires working in high-radiation areas and developing expertise in complex nuclear systems under strict compliance and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- —Prepare and carry out maintenance activities and replacement of nuclear equipment at CNPE sites
- —Open and close reactor vessels, including automated maintenance and lubrication of vessel threads
- —Perform stress corrosion treatment on primary or auxiliary piping
- —Replace reactor internals components (e.g., guide tubes)
- —Conduct fuel television inspection and non-destructive examination of vessel head penetrations
- —Maintain, assess, and improve equipment in hot conditions (radiological environments)
- —Ensure compliance with radiation protection, quality standards, and schedule control
- —Diagnose equipment failures and provide technical assistance to operators
- —Participate in development and qualification of new tools and improvement of existing equipment
Qualifications
- —Bac+2 level diploma (or equivalent) in mechanics, electrotechnics, or robotics
- —Valid driver's license (category B)
- —Good level of English proficiency
- —Rigorous, autonomous work style with strong team collaboration abilities
- —Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at different organizational levels
Desired
- —Knowledge in automation, electronics, and general mechanics
- —Experience working in nuclear or highly regulated industrial environments
Location
Villejust, France (ELA/Reactor Services department); approximately 80% travel to French CNPE sites and occasional work in Europe; onsite work at nuclear facilities with radiological hazards exposure.
