Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical curriculum or equivalent recognized technical program (Naval Nuclear, military training, etc.)
- Ability to meet Westinghouse Level 2 procedure WEC 2.9 qualification requirements and achieve Level 1 certification within 6 months of employment
- Certification to meet NRC Regulatory Guide 1.58 and ANSI/ASME 45.2.6 requirements
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including mechanical and electrical schematics, bills of materials, and technical specifications
About this role
Quality Technician C at Westinghouse's Warrendale, PA facility performing inspections on mechanical and electrical components and assemblies used in nuclear equipment manufacturing. Reports to the Quality Control Supervisor and supports nuclear energy production through rigorous quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections on mechanical and electrical components and assemblies per engineering drawings, specifications, and established procedures
- Read engineering work orders and review inspection procedures, drawings, and specifications to determine inspection requirements
- Inspect components and assemblies to identify defects and nonconformances
- Review test data from vendors to validate accuracy and completeness
- Review purchase orders and perform receipt inspection of incoming materials
- Follow Westinghouse Quality procedures and maintain compliance with NRC and ANSI/ASME standards
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for managing work orders, material movement, or inspection documentation
- Current or previous IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, IPC-WHMA-A-620, or IPC-A-600) demonstrating proficiency in inspection of electronic assemblies and workmanship standards
