Required qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years direct Project Management or Project Delivery experience on large-scale projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects under regulatory oversight; nuclear power plant construction experience preferred
  • Proficiency with project scheduling, budget control, EVMS tools, and project control methodologies
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent written and oral communication
  • Meet ANSI/ANS 3.1 minimum education and experience qualification requirements

About this role

TerraPower seeks a Project Manager to oversee the Natrium advanced sodium-cooled fast reactor demonstration project. You'll manage cost, schedule, and scope across multidisciplinary engineering teams, serve as the primary point of contact for project issues, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of nuclear reactor development activities. Reports to Sr. Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project cost, schedule, and scope execution using earned value (EV) data; monitor variances, identify root causes, and develop corrective/recovery actions
  • Drive team accountability for deliverables within budget, scope, and technical performance requirements; ensure technical adequacy and quality of work products
  • Lead integrated master control schedule (IMCS) planning; coordinate with engineering leads and project controls for schedule implementation and resource leveling
  • Develop and maintain staffing and resource plans; adjust schedules to optimize resource allocation
  • Maintain project risk register and execute actions to reduce project risk
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements in coordination with Contract Administrator
  • Collaborate with PMO to ensure adherence to PMO requirements and corporate procedures

Preferred qualifications

  • PMP certificate
  • Strong technical acumen with ability to grasp complex nuclear engineering concepts
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA)
  • Experience with Primavera P6
