Procurement Engineering Spec I - Sr Lead
About this role
Procurement Engineering Specialist (multiple levels: Spec I through Sr Lead) at Entergy responsible for establishing technical and quality requirements for nuclear power plant procurement activities. Primary duties include performing Commercial Grade Dedication evaluations, developing Item Equivalency Evaluations for replacement parts, and conducting Parts Interchangeability Evaluations. This role ensures compliance with nuclear industry codes and standards while supporting procurement of safety-critical components.
Responsibilities
- —Develop Equivalency Evaluations to determine suitable replacement parts and components for obsolete or unavailable items
- —Perform Parts Interchangeability Evaluations for replacement materials with no change to form, fit, or function
- —Perform technical evaluations and reviews of procurement documents
- —Establish and utilize commercial grade dedications to support procurement activities
- —Evaluate and document the disposition of technical discrepancies identified during procurement, receipt inspection, and inventory control processes
- —Interface with internal and external groups on procurement-related activities, including supplier audits, Commercial Grade Survey checklists, and interpretation of codes or standards
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline (or equivalent related experience depending on level)
- —Minimum experience varies by level: Spec I (4+ years equivalent), Spec II (1+ years procurement engineering), Spec III (3+ years procurement engineering), Sr (6+ years procurement engineering with 4+ years nuclear), Sr Lead (8+ years procurement engineering with 6+ years nuclear)
- —Knowledge of nuclear plant technology, systems and components
- —Ability to work with all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls), manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors
- —Strong problem-solving and change-management skills
- —Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work for timely and accurate completion
- —Ability to communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing
Desired
- —Electrical experience or Electrical Engineering degree
- —Instrumentation & Controls experience
- —Technical mastery of engineering principles and in-depth knowledge of procedures, programs, and standards
- —Performance and development of Commercial Grade Dedication evaluations
- —Professional Engineering License and/or SRO License or Certification
Location
Onsite at Echelon in Jackson, MS or Riverbend Station in St. Francisville, LA; up to 25% travel
