Principal Supplier Performance Engineer
About this role
Principal Supplier Performance Engineer supporting fabrication of structural and mechanical components for Westinghouse's AP1000 reactor manufacturing. Oversee supplier compliance, quality metrics, and performance across critical nuclear supply chain activities including document submittals, manufacturing surveillance, inspections, and functional testing.
Responsibilities
- —Assess supplier competence and adherence to AP1000 fabrication process requirements
- —Accomplish Supplier Oversight Plans including critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance points, inspections, and functional tests
- —Ensure vendor compliance with critical requirements and coordinate activities across Westinghouse functions (Supply Chain, Design Engineering, Supplier Quality Oversight)
- —Identify and escalate supplier issues, risks, and quality events; promote prompt resolution through coordinated corrective action implementation
- —Monitor supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices) and identify negative trends
- —Implement causal analysis, corrective actions, and Supplier Improvement Plans; manage internal and external corrective action requests
Qualifications
- —10+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, or fabrication
- —Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, or Manufacturing disciplines
- —Experience with fabrication and design of ASME Section VIII pressure vessels and heat exchangers
- —Working knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE, inspection, testing)
- —Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans
- —Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
Desired
- —Experience in Power Generation or Nuclear Industries
- —Experience in Oil & Gas, Pipelines, Refineries, Offshore Oil Production Platforms, Ship Building, or Manufacturing Plants
Location
Hybrid role with remote work consideration within US; 20% travel required; frequent onsite visits to Etna and Cranberry Township, PA (Westinghouse HQ sites).
