About this role
Lead refueling project management at PWR nuclear sites as a Principal Project Specialist. Own safety, quality, delivery, and cost accountability for reactor refueling outages (30–60 days), coordinating across Radiation Protection, Outage Management, Reactor Engineering, Operations, and external contractors while ensuring compliance with NRC and nuclear industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Own safety, quality, delivery, and cost accountability for refueling projects
- Communicate and coordinate with customers, contractors, Radiation Protection, Outage Management, Reactor Engineering, and Operations teams
- Manage reactor disassembly, fuel movement, and reassembly activities per schedule
- Maintain and direct execution of procedures, work orders, processes, plans, and project briefs
- Promote safety-first environment and Human Performance tool usage
- Serve as primary contact during refueling outages lasting 30–60 days (preparation through closeout)
- Apply knowledge of human performance, fatigue rules, ALARA, lessons learned, and nuclear outage requirements
- Use SAP for financial tracking and Primavera for scheduling support to customer reviews
- Obtain and maintain unescorted access credentials at customer sites; participate in Fitness for Duty program
Preferred qualifications
- Westinghouse RFPM or WPMR/EPMO project manager training (required post-hire)
- Knowledge of human performance, fatigue rules, ALARA principles, and lessons learned in nuclear outage operations
Location, schedule, and travel
Remote (US-based); up to 40% travel; field assignments 30–60 days per refueling outage; day or night shift availability required.
