Principal Field Specialist
About this role
Lead refueling outage projects at PWR nuclear sites as a Principal Field Specialist. You'll manage safety, quality, delivery, and cost for 30–60 day field assignments, coordinating across customers, contractors, and internal teams to execute reactor disassembly, fuel movement, and reassembly.
Responsibilities
- —Own safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance for assigned refueling projects
- —Communicate and coordinate with customers, contractors, Radiation Protection, Outage Management, Reactor Engineering, and Operations teams
- —Manage refueling outage activities including reactor disassembly, fuel movement, and reassembly
- —Use SAP for financial tracking and administrative accountability; apply Primavera scheduling tool to support customer schedule reviews
- —Maintain and direct execution of procedures, work orders, processes, plans, and briefs; serve as primary contact during refueling outages
- —Promote safety-first culture and implement Human Performance tools; champion ALARA, fatigue rules, lessons learned, and operating experience best practices
- —Support refueling projects from initiation through closeout with direct customer and vendor engagement
- —Obtain and maintain unescorted site access; participate in Fitness for Duty Program
Qualifications
- —10+ years of experience in nuclear or related field
- —BS degree, equivalent industry experience, or Naval Nuclear education
- —1–3 years as a Technical Project Manager
- —Project management and nuclear plant work experience
- —Knowledge of PWR refueling operations or equivalent PM service at a nuclear site
Desired
- —Refueling Project Manager (RFPM) experience at a PWR nuclear site
- —Familiarity with Westinghouse procedures and processes
- —Training in human performance, ALARA, and nuclear outage service requirements
Location
Remote (anywhere in U.S.); day or night shift; field assignments 30–60 days; travel required to customer sites
