Principal Procurement Engineer
About this role
Principal Procurement Engineer at Westinghouse supporting nuclear energy projects. Lead independent procurement of complex, safety-related components and systems for nuclear facilities. Drive standardization, supplier quality, and best practices across global supply chains with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
- —Operate independently on highly complex, safety-related procurement scopes with minimal oversight
- —Influence cross-functional and supplier decisions that impact project outcomes
- —Lead resolution of high-risk, high-impact procurement challenges
- —Serve as subject matter expert in nuclear procurement and supplier execution
- —Drive standardization and best practices across projects and teams
- —Manage complex, global supply chains with high execution risk
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Nuclear) or Supply Chain
- —Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, engineering, or project execution within a regulated/industrial environment
- —Advanced understanding of nuclear procurement requirements, quality standards, and supplier manufacturing processes
- —Strong commercial acumen including contract negotiation and cost analysis
- —Ability to manage complex, global supply chains with high execution risk
- —Strong leadership and influencing skills across cross-functional teams and suppliers
- —Ability to operate independently and prioritize across multiple high-impact activities
- —Familiarity with SAP, PowerBI, and SharePoint
Location
Hybrid role; up to 20% travel required
