Principal Electrical Engineer
About this role
Principal Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse's Electrical Products Group, designing and delivering electrical, instrumentation, and control solutions for nuclear power plants. Responsibilities
- —Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase requisitions for nuclear electrical products
- —Develop and maintain Material Master Data and Parts Baselines in SAP
- —Determine critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial grade dedication
- —Develop equipment qualification test procedures, support testing execution, evaluate results, and review final reports
- —Prepare Commercial Dedication Instructions per NQA-1 standards
- —Develop engineered solutions to address equipment obsolescence for electrical products
- —Provide engineering support to customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and shop operations
- —Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned electrical products and components
- —Engage with customers and vendors to problem-solve product-related issues
- —Address non-conforming material issues and drive resolution
- —Mentor lower-level engineers
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- —10+ years of engineering experience
- —General knowledge of electrical distribution systems and equipment, including low/medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motors, motor-generator sets, and motor control centers
- —Ability to design components, parts, and full assemblies using design software such as AutoCAD or Inventor
Desired
- —Previous experience in nuclear industry, specifically with nuclear power plant safety and non-safety systems
Location
Hybrid role based in New Stanton, PA; no relocation assistance offered.
