Required qualifications
- BS or BA in applicable field (math, science, engineering, or business administration) with 12 years' experience in a commercial nuclear work environment; OR AA degree with 15 years' experience in an engineering work environment; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years' experience working under NQA-1 or similar requirements
- Experience working with nuclear corrective action programs
- Experience working with nuclear performance improvement programs
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment
- Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills

About this role
TerraPower seeks a Performance Improvement Manager to develop, implement, and oversee corrective action programs, self-assessments, and performance analytics across the organization. This full-time exempt role reports to the Senior Manager of Organizational Effectiveness and drives continuous improvement to help TerraPower become a self-identifying and self-correcting organization. The role is critical to supporting the construction and operation of the Natrium advanced reactor plant.
Responsibilities
- Serve as program and process owner for Performance Improvement (PI) and Corrective Action Program (CAP)
- Oversee development, maintenance, and implementation of PI and CAP standard operating documents
- Oversee development and implementation of the observation program
- Represent TerraPower on various PI and CAP industry working groups
- Oversee development and deployment of PI and CAP programs to support Natrium plant construction
- Work with cross-functional management to identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions
- Oversee development and use of key performance indicators and report to management
- Oversee root cause investigations and effectiveness reviews
- Oversee assessments performed on all functional areas
- Oversee implementation of the operating experience program and industry reporting
- Oversee implementation of the benchmarking program
- Oversee development and implementation of PI and CAP training
- Lead Corrective Action Review Committee meetings
- Prepare performance data and adverse trends analysis using observations, CAP, self-assessment, benchmarking, and operating experience data
Preferred qualifications
- Previously licensed Senior Reactor Operator (SRO)
- Experience working in a project environment
- Experience working with government organizations such as Department of Energy and/or Nuclear Regulatory Commission
- Prior managerial experience
- Experience with Confluence, Jira, PowerBI, and Devonway
Location, schedule, and travel
Full-time exempt position; minimal physical exertion with ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds; prolonged sitting for extended periods.
