About this role

The Operations Instructor designs, develops, and delivers accredited operator training programs for nuclear power plant personnel. You'll conduct classroom and simulator instruction, evaluate trainee performance, and support all operations training including non-licensed operators, licensed operators, shift managers, and shift technical advisors.

Responsibilities

—Analyze and design training programs for non-licensed operator, licensed operator, Shift Manager, and Shift Technical Advisor roles
—Develop and conduct training in classroom and simulator settings for all operator training programs
—Develop and administer examinations for operator training programs
—Pursue and maintain qualifications such as general instructor, simulator booth operator, SRO Certification, and simulator floor instructor
—Assist with self-assessments and evaluations of operator training programs
—Implement SAT process for Operations training programs
—Manage training program maintenance and CAP management
—Support plant refueling outages by transitioning to plant staff during lengthy outages
—Assist with in-processing of contract employees during plant outages
—Function as a member of the site Emergency Response Organization (ERO)
—Provide day-to-day support to the Operations group

Qualifications

—Expertise or familiarity with power plant operations
—Demonstrated ability to interface well with people and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
—Ability to effectively present training material to various class sizes with varied entry-level knowledge
—Organizational and administrative skills to produce, maintain, and deliver accredited performance-based training
—Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams with minimal supervision
—Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
—Must satisfy all Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission security requirements
