Nuclear Siting Project Manager – Natrium Technology
About this role
Lead the integrated siting program for TerraPower's Natrium advanced reactor projects, coordinating across technical, environmental, regulatory, and stakeholder engagement functions. This role requires a seasoned project manager with deep nuclear industry experience to guide site selection, characterization, and NRC early site permit (ESP) development for advanced reactor deployment.
Responsibilities
- —Lead the integrated siting program for Natrium projects, ensuring coordination across TerraPower departments and alignment of schedule, budget, and deliverables across technical, environmental, regulatory, and stakeholder engagement functional areas
- —Oversee scope and schedule development for project site characterization including geology, hydrology, and seismology assessments
- —Coordinate input from internal subject matter experts and external consultants in environmental, geotechnical, regulatory, and land acquisition specialties
- —Support TerraPower's Regulatory Affairs and Licensing Department in preparation of NRC early site permit documentation and federal/state siting approval applications
- —Ensure siting activities comply with applicable nuclear and environmental regulations (10 CFR Part 100, NEPA)
- —Collaborate with government entities, utilities, and local/community stakeholders to facilitate transparent communication and long-term partnerships
- —Develop and maintain risk registers, decision matrices, and tracking tools to support executive-level site selection decisions
- —Prepare regular program reports, briefings, and presentations for leadership, partners, and regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or related field
- —Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in nuclear projects (new construction or plant operations), energy infrastructure, or large-scale industrial siting and permitting projects
- —Proven project management experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- —Familiarity with NRC siting criteria (10 CFR Part 100), NEPA, and state-level environmental permitting
- —In-depth understanding of nuclear safety regulations and environmental standards (NRC, NEPA)
- —Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Desired
- —Master's degree in a technical or management discipline
- —PMP or similar project management certification
- —Experience with advanced reactor technologies or DOE/NRC programs
- —Prior experience working with utilities or public-private energy partnerships
Location
Onsite; 0–10% travel; standard office environment with extended sitting (>8 hours/day); minimal physical exertion with ability to lift up to 25 pounds
