Nuclear Reactor Operator Instructor
About this role
Support training development for Westinghouse's next-generation reactors (AP1000®) and global operating fleets. Combine plant operations experience with advanced reactor design knowledge to develop and deliver initial and continuing education programs for licensed and non-licensed operations personnel using classroom, plant, and simulator-based instruction.
Responsibilities
- —Participate in all stages of Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process for initial and continuing education programs
- —Support analysis, design, and implementation of training needs in reactor operations specialty
- —Design, develop, and implement training sessions for licensed and non-licensed operations personnel in classroom, plant, and simulator environments
- —Collaborate on analysis and implementation of simulator corrections and malfunction responses
- —Coordinate training programs, provide support to training committees, and plan training initiatives
- —Develop advanced educational resources including simulators, multimedia, videos, and models; maintain and update existing materials
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical); minimum 3.0 GPA; knowledge of nuclear reactor physics, reactor operations, criticality, thermal hydraulics, plant simulation, reactor modeling, and fuel cycles; ability to travel occasionally to client facilities
Location
Hybrid (2-3 days/week on-site); Cranberry Township or Madison, PA; occasional travel to client facilities required
