About this role

Nuclear Programs Engineer at Callaway Energy Center (PWR), an 800+ employee facility in mid-Missouri. Role provides technical leadership in system optimization, equipment maintenance, plant issue resolution, and regulatory compliance (NRC, INPO standards). Responsibilities include safety evaluations, engineering modifications, causal analysis, design basis management, and operating experience integration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform safety evaluation screening and disposition of nonconformance reports and Requests for Resolution (RFRs)
  • Conduct engineering evaluations and prepare Minor Modifications and Material Equivalencies for assigned equipment systems
  • Perform causal analysis of equipment and system deficiencies; determine and implement corrective actions
  • Proactively monitor, trend, and report performance status of assigned programs to plant management
  • Review and evaluate NRC and INPO documents; share Operating Experience insights across departments
  • Develop long-range work plans and life-cycle management initiatives for assigned equipment
  • Support configuration, design changes, and maintain design basis documentation
  • Interface with other departments to develop cost-effective maintenance strategies
  • Review technical specifications and instruction manuals to determine testing and maintenance requirements for safety-related equipment

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ABET accredited); strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills; security screening clearance required for Callaway plant access

Desired

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) Registration; previous nuclear utility experience

Location

Onsite at Callaway Energy Center, mid-Missouri; security screening clearance required for plant access
