About this role

Nuclear Planner or Senior Nuclear Planner specializing in mechanical/welding maintenance at a nuclear power station. Prepare work order packages, plan preventive maintenance and outage activities, conduct equipment walkdowns, and serve as a technical expert ensuring timely completion of maintenance programs and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare automated work order packages; research maintenance history, change documents, and vendor manuals
  • Identify steps, required parts, and scheduling for work orders and preventive maintenance programs; ensure completion prior to deadline
  • Create, maintain, and analyze outage and major maintenance packages; track progress and retain historical data
  • Conduct walkdowns to verify engineering documents, locate equipment, and assess plant conditions
  • Determine material and service requirements; identify vendors meeting technical and performance expectations; negotiate pricing
  • Interface with technicians, supervisors, and operators to clarify scope, materials, and testing requirements
  • Conduct planning meetings with various departments for proper identification, integration, and resource leveling of maintenance activities
  • Provide technical expertise to less experienced planners; act as planning supervisor when designated

Qualifications

Nuclear Planner: 2+ years experience in mechanical/welding craft specialty and/or nuclear operations with previous plant experience; considerable work experience in corrective maintenance, job planning, and scope assessment; High School diploma/GED plus 4+ years directly related experience including technical program completion in craft discipline or nuclear operations training. Senior Nuclear Planner: 5+ years directly related work experience demonstrating expert knowledge of craft specialty and/or nuclear operations; High School diploma/GED plus 7+ years directly related experience including technical program completion. Required: Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to assess work requirements and determine physical and labor requirements; negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills; skilled in computer and scheduling software use.
