Required qualifications
Five (5) or more years of NDE experience directly related to nuclear power plants (Senior Specialist) OR three (3) or more years (Specialist level)
In-depth knowledge of various non-destructive testing methods and their application in nuclear power plants
In-depth expertise/familiarity with ASME, ANSI, and ASNT Codes and Standards related to fabrication and in-service inspection
Proven ability to enforce the highest standards of operational excellence
About this role
Dominion Energy's Fleet Engineering seeks NDE Specialists to serve as technical experts on non-destructive evaluation across four nuclear power stations. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining NDE procedures, auditing compliance with codes and standards, providing technical guidance to inspectors, managing training programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance with the NRC.
Responsibilities
Develop, update, and maintain NDE procedures to ensure compliance with applicable code requirements
Audit contractors, vendors, and documents for compliance with Dominion procedures, codes, and standards
Act as technical authority and provide NDE guidance to NDE Inspectors and other departments
Ensure proper communication and interpretation of test results and prompt repair of components
Perform NDE inspections of power plant components using advanced methods
Assist in development and administration of NDE training programs
Coordinate NDE training program and certify Company and contract employees (Senior Specialist level)
Interface with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on NDE matters (Senior Specialist level)
Review and approve vendor and contract employee NDE programs and procedures (Senior Specialist level)
Plan and implement strategies to comply with new and evolving regulatory requirements (Senior Specialist level)
Preferred qualifications
Prior NDE experience within the nuclear power industry
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid 3-2 schedule (three days onsite, two days telework). Preferred locations: Millstone Power Station (Waterford, CT) or Surry Power Station (Surry, VA). Alternative bases: Glen Allen, VA; Jenkinsville, SC; or Mineral, VA.
