Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of NDE experience
  • Level III ISO 9712 and SNT-TC-1A certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Inspection, Radiography Inspection, Visual Inspection, Ultrasonic Inspection, TOFD, and Phased Array
  • English language proficiency B2 (written and spoken)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in quality-critical nuclear manufacturing environment
  • Ability to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue with workshop stakeholders

About this role

NDE Level III role at Westinghouse responsible for developing, qualifying, and approving nondestructive examination procedures and techniques for nuclear components. Oversee NDE activities across VT, PT, MT, RT, UT, TOFD, and Phased Array methods; train and supervise Level I and II operators; and interpret nuclear codes and standards (ASME, ASTM) to ensure manufacturing quality and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, qualify, and approve NDE procedures and techniques compliant with codes and standards
  • Perform oversight of NDE activities according to job documentation, standards, and codes
  • Interpret and apply codes, standards, specifications, and contractual requirements for NDE methods (VT, PT, MT, RT, UT, TOFD, Phased Array)
  • Review and approve nondestructive examination procedures and work instruction technical adequacy
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to Level I and II NDE operators
  • Support Level I and II operators during control activities and inspections in the workshop
  • Oversee inspection activities ensuring compliance with project quality requirements and nuclear standards
  • Designate appropriate NDE methods, techniques, and procedures for specific projects
  • Participate in technical discussions and meetings with departments, clients, and regulatory agencies

  • Experience in heavy manufacturing industries involving welding activities
