NCBE Mechanical Engineer
About this role
Join Westinghouse's New Component and BWR Engineering (NCBE) team as a Mechanical Engineer supporting design, analysis, and fabrication of large nuclear components including replacement steam generators and AP1000 primary components. You'll perform structural, dynamic, and thermal-hydraulic analyses, develop design and safety documentation, and coordinate with technical leads and customers on component qualification and manufacturing support.
Responsibilities
- —Provide technical support for large component design, analysis, and fabrication focusing on replacement steam generators, AP1000 primary components, and BWR engineering
- —Perform analytical calculations (structural, dynamic, and thermal-hydraulic) and evaluations using various engineering tools and methods
- —Develop design documentation for safety and non-safety related hardware, including manufacturing drawings, functional and design specifications, and qualification reports
- —Coordinate activities with technical leads, project managers, and customers on assigned work scope
- —Travel occasionally to customer and manufacturing vendor sites to provide on-site support, deliver presentations, and aid in issue resolution
Qualifications
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or recognized equivalent
Location
Chattanooga, TN; hybrid schedule; occasional travel to customer and manufacturing vendor sites
