About this role
Mechanical or Electrical Systems Engineer supporting uranium enrichment operations at URENCO USA's facility in Eunice, NM — North America's only large-scale commercial enrichment plant. Role involves equipment performance analysis, design, troubleshooting, and engineering support across mechanical and electrical systems critical to enrichment operations.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and maintain knowledge of facility design and licensing basis in assigned area
- —Acquire and maintain required training and qualifications for assigned responsibilities
- —Conduct equipment performance monitoring and analysis to support production capacity goals
- —Develop technical problem resolutions per established procedures, vendor documents, Nonconformance Evaluations, Operability Determinations, and Quality Level determinations
- —Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and design development for facility programs and projects
- —Conduct field walk-downs and engineering observations throughout facility
- —Develop Plant Modification packages from design requirements or issue descriptions
- —Perform technical and quality reviews of engineering and technical products
- —Communicate and collaborate across organizations to resolve technical issues and implement engineering outputs
- —Apply industrial safety and radiological safety practices in all field and engineering activities
- —Maintain regulatory and schedule compliance for assigned tasks
- —Apply sound engineering judgment and professional rigor in all analyses
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited university; Controlled Access Area (CAA) access and L or Q level security clearance (required); basic engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills; understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving techniques.
Desired
Multiple experience levels: 0–2 years (Level 1), 2–4 years with improved technical skills and basic project management (Level 2), 4–7 years with advanced technical expertise and project management (Level 3), or 7+ years with expert technical knowledge and leadership capabilities (Senior Engineer).
Location
On-site in Eunice, NM. Professional work schedule with minimal night/weekend support; some nights and weekend work may be required with call-outs as needed. Up to 15% travel. Radiological exposure expected.
