Mechanical Engineer

Entry-level Mechanical Engineer supporting Westinghouse's nuclear and clean energy projects. Focus on design, fabrication, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear systems, including mechanical fluid systems, piping layouts, and nuclear island structures. Reports to Engineering Manager of Balance Of Plant Mechanical Engineering.

Support design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance teams for nuclear and non-nuclear large-scale projects

Develop mechanical fluid system piping layouts and resolve routing interferences and physical layout conflicts

Perform physical arrangement assessments of nuclear island structures, equipment, piping, commodities, and supports using E3D design software

Author, review, and verify engineering designs; conduct 3D model and plant design reviews using WNEXUS

Coordinate technically between functional areas for plant design and parameters; interface with engineers across departments and global locations

Prepare technical reports to satisfy regulatory, code, and contract requirements

BS in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 3.0 GPA

0–3 years of experience (recent 2025–2026 graduates encouraged to apply)

3D modeling software understanding and previous use

Visual and spatial design skills

E3D software experience

REVIT experience

Leadership and program management skills

Hybrid, 2 days/week on-site at Rock Hill, SC facility; no relocation assistance provided
