Mechanical Designer
About this role
Mechanical Designer at Westinghouse's Fuel Factory in Västerås, Sweden. Design and develop equipment for nuclear fuel manufacturing and reactor applications, ranging from small assignments to large-scale projects. Work alongside technical experts within a team of 12 designers on concept-to-hardware development.
Responsibilities
- —Conduct feasibility studies and investigations for technical solutions
- —Prepare detailed design documentation for manufacturing and CE marking
- —Test newly developed equipment
- —CE-mark developed equipment including requirements management, risk assessment, and documentation
- —Work independently or collaboratively from concept through to working hardware
- —Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement with the design team
Qualifications
- —Technical education or equivalent professional experience
- —5+ years of experience as a mechanical designer
- —Proficiency in setting tolerances for manufacturing design
- —Design experience with 3D CAD tools and PDM systems (Creo and Windchill preferred)
- —Experience translating customer requirements and CE marking requirements into design
- —Fluent in Swedish and English (speaking and writing)
