Market Development Associate
About this role
Monitor and analyze US and global power market trends to inform TerraPower's advanced reactor (Natrium) deployment strategy and market entry decisions. This role supports senior leadership with data-driven insights on electricity markets, decarbonization policies, competitive landscapes, and nuclear technology positioning in the low-carbon energy transition.
Responsibilities
- —Conduct in-depth tracking and analysis of US power market trends in key states and localities, plus targeted third-country power market analyses
- —Monitor policy and regulatory trends to inform TerraPower's nuclear deployment strategy
- —Track electricity demand trends, decarbonization targets, and low-carbon technology deployments to assess Natrium reactor market fit
- —Monitor and track energy technologies and competitive deployments in key markets of interest
- —Provide strategic insights to support new market entry and expansion strategies
- —Prepare market development trend briefings and executive presentations for senior leadership
- —Produce status reports and market intelligence deliverables as assigned
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Business, Energy, Engineering, or related field
- —3–5+ years' experience in energy markets, power sector, or related field (nuclear experience preferred)
- —Strong understanding of US and global power markets and electricity market structures
- —Strong understanding of low-carbon technologies, including nuclear reactor technologies
- —Strong understanding of energy transition and decarbonization policies
- —Proficiency with energy databases and market intelligence platforms
- —Excellent analytical and presentation skills
Desired
- —Master's degree in Business, Energy, Engineering, or Policy
- —Deep knowledge of advanced reactor technologies and nuclear power economics
- —Familiarity with US Independent System Operators (ISOs), Regional Transmission Operators (RTOs), and state-level grid operators
Location
Bellevue, Washington. Onsite role with 0–10% travel. Standard office environment (>8 hours/day seated); minimal physical exertion; ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
