Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related discipline
- 10+ years of progressively responsible engineering and/or leadership experience
- Demonstrated leadership competency and existing management experience
- Knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and fracture mechanics fundamentals
- Ability to gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make sound technical decisions
About this role
Lead Westinghouse's Fracture Mechanics Engineering group within the Reactor Component Engineering department. Manage a team conducting fracture mechanics analyses (leak-before-break, flaw tolerance, fatigue crack growth) for NSSS equipment, supporting both operating nuclear plants and new reactor designs. Report to the Director of Reactor Component Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage fracture mechanics engineering team including performance management, career development, and hiring
- Manage work planning, prioritization, and resource allocation across multiple projects and supporting departments
- Ensure high-quality delivery of engineering work products per internal quality processes and industry standards
- Provide technical oversight for fracture mechanics evaluations including leak-before-break analysis, flaw tolerance evaluations, and fatigue crack growth assessments
- Support operating plants through outage support and modifications; contribute to new plant designs
- Mentor team members to improve technical proficiency and overall team capability
- Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, safety culture, and quality standards
- Coordinate emergent response to customer and plant issues

Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; hybrid with 2 days per week onsite
