Maintenance Mechanic AA
About this role
Maintenance Mechanic AA at Westinghouse supporting nuclear component manufacturing. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machinery, welding equipment, pump test loops, and electro-mechanical systems. Requires advanced technical expertise in CNC programming, PLC troubleshooting, and industrial electronics in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- —Ensure operation of CNC machinery, welding machines, and pump test loops by completing preventive and corrective maintenance
- —Troubleshoot machinery and equipment problems by interpreting diagrams, schematics, and engineering specifications
- —Observe mechanical devices in operation and use measuring and test equipment to diagnose issues
- —Remove defective electro-mechanical components by dismantling devices using cranes and hoists as needed
- —Analyze and program complex CNC controls and PLCs for troubleshooting and operational purposes
- —Install, retrofit, and debug complex CNC control systems using advanced technical and electronic techniques
- —Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by monitoring stock levels and placing orders
- —Provide technical maintenance support to operations team and prepare technical maintenance reports with trend analysis
Qualifications
- —High school diploma or equivalent
- —Minimum 2-year Certificate program in Electronics Engineering or PLC Maintenance, or Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering
- —12 years equivalent Technical or Electronic Maintenance experience in industrial environment
- —5 years advanced Technical or Electronics Maintenance experience
- —Proficiency with maintenance hand tools, portable power tools, and shop equipment (power saws, drills, hydraulic presses, milling machines, lathes, band saws, pipe threading machines)
- —Experience with arc and gas welding and cutting equipment
- —Proficiency with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal imagery equipment, circuit tracking meters, megohmmeters, and load banks
- —Advanced fluency with blueprints, schematics, ladder diagrams, PLC logic, and CNC programming languages
