Machinist A
About this role
Machinist A at Westinghouse Newington supporting nuclear component manufacturing. Operate CNC metal removing and forming machines, perform close-tolerance machining to engineering specifications, develop tooling and jigs, and ensure quality output in a regulated nuclear manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- —Operate metal removing and metal forming machines including CNC machining centers
- —Select measuring tools and hand tools; perform close-tolerance work to engineering drawings and specifications
- —Determine need for and fabricate jigs and tooling to support machining operations
- —Set up machine tools and components; modify and troubleshoot machining programs as qualified
- —Load machining centers and run multiple machines simultaneously based on qualifications and training
- —Observe all safety, criticality, and 5S procedures; ensure quality and proper housekeeping
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 1 year machining experience or Machinist B equivalent; proficiency with CNC G codes and machine programming; knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machine setup for precision components; familiarity with 5S principles.
Location
100% onsite, Newington, NH; must be local to the area.
