About this role
Lead Project Estimator for Westinghouse nuclear and energy projects. Develop comprehensive cost estimates (conceptual, preliminary, definitive) for nuclear facility construction and upgrades. Mentor junior estimators and optimize project costs through value engineering. 1-year contract (W-2) based in Juno Beach, FL.
Responsibilities
- —Lead development of detailed project cost estimates for nuclear and energy projects across multiple phases
- —Perform conceptual engineering design and preliminary construction planning to support estimate scope quantification
- —Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to analyze specifications, drawings, and project documentation
- —Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance
- —Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency
- —Perform risk assessments and develop contingency plans for project uncertainties
- —Present cost estimates and value engineering options to senior management and stakeholders
- —Mentor junior estimators and foster continuous improvement in estimating practices
- —Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for competitive pricing
- —Track project costs and variances throughout lifecycle, updating estimates for scope/design/market changes
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- —Minimum 7 years of project estimating experience, with focus on conceptual engineering and design
- —Experience estimating utility-scale energy projects, including nuclear power generation facilities
- —Proficiency in value engineering principles
- —Knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment, and industry best practices in cost management
Location
Juno Beach, FL; onsite with occasional travel to project sites
