Lead Procurement Engineer
About this role
Lead Procurement Engineer at Westinghouse overseeing execution of complex nuclear procurement scopes and managing a small team. Drive supplier accountability across cost, schedule, quality, and technical requirements for nuclear energy projects, with day-to-day leadership and execution-level decision-making authority.
Responsibilities
- —Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight to procurement team
- —Lead complex nuclear procurement scopes with moderate autonomy; make execution-level decisions with Manager guidance
- —Act as bridge between individual contributors and leadership; drive consistency and execution discipline across team activities
- —Coordinate team execution and drive prioritization to align with program delivery objectives
- —Manage supplier delivery and accountability across cost, schedule, quality, and technical requirements for nuclear projects
- —Negotiate contracts and conduct cost analysis for nuclear component/system procurements
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Nuclear preferred)
- —Minimum 5 years progressively responsible experience in procurement, engineering, or project execution within regulated/industrial environment
- —Advanced understanding of nuclear procurement requirements, quality standards, and supplier manufacturing processes
- —Strong commercial acumen including contract negotiation and cost analysis
- —Demonstrated ability to manage complex, global supply chains with high execution risk
- —Strong leadership and influencing skills across cross-functional teams and suppliers
- —Ability to operate independently and prioritize across multiple high-impact activities
- —Proficiency in SAP, PowerBI, and SharePoint
Desired
Advanced understanding of nuclear industry standards and compliance (NRC, ASME, 10 CFR requirements)
Location
Hybrid role based in Cranberry Township, PA; up to 20% travel required; no relocation assistance provided.
