Instrument Technician (I&C Tech) - Plant Vogtle 1 & 2
About this role
Instrument & Controls Technician at Plant Vogtle Units 1 & 2 (PWR), responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and performing surveillance on safety-critical measurement, control, and monitoring equipment. Role includes emergency response participation and requires strong electronics and instrumentation fundamentals.
Responsibilities
- —Perform routine maintenance, surveillance, and calibration on plant measurement, control, and monitoring equipment
- —Maintain environmental monitoring equipment and systems to ensure compliance with NRC regulatory and safety guidelines
- —Interpret logic diagrams, single-line drawings, P&IDs, connection drawings, and electronic schematics
- —Use electronic test equipment for measuring and calibrating safety-critical equipment
- —Troubleshoot equipment issues in strategic safety applications
- —Research, interpret, and follow plant procedures
- —Apply human performance tools to mitigate human error
- —Participate in emergency response organization
Qualifications
2-year associate degree in Electronics, Electronics Technology, or Instrumentation (US Nuclear Navy ET training accepted); curriculum must include AC/DC Theory and Solid State Knowledge. Job knowledge in troubleshooting and instrument calibration, and instrumentation experience in a plant environment. Ability to use electronic test equipment; pass EEI Technician Occupations Selection System (TECH) test. Meet background screening, fitness for duty, and physical requirements.
Desired
Nuclear plant environment experience. Experience with digital control systems (Ovation, ABB, GE Mark VIe, Allen Bradley). Knowledge of networking protocols, operations, and administration.
Location
Onsite at Plant Vogtle, Waynesboro, Georgia; emergency response organization participation required.
