Instructional Technologist
About this role
Support Susquehanna Nuclear Station's training operations as an Instructional Technologist using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT). You will evaluate training effectiveness, mentor instructors and management, develop training products compliant with nuclear regulatory standards (NRC and INPO), and drive continuous improvement in the station's training programs. This role includes outage support and emergency response organization duties.
Responsibilities
- —Provide educational expertise to instructors and training management to ensure all training follows the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)
- —Work as part of a cross-functional team to create training products that meet Susquehanna Nuclear, industry (INPO), and NRC regulatory standards
- —Conduct training delivery including classroom lectures, computer-based training (CBT) development, and trainee evaluations
- —Evaluate instructors and provide constructive feedback to improve performance
- —Perform benchmarking and self-assessments and develop improvement plans for Susquehanna's training processes
- —Track and trend training data to identify performance gaps and recommend enhancement methods
- —Demonstrate excellent communication to explain complex nuclear concepts to diverse audiences
- —Organize and manage multiple assignments independently with specific time constraints
- —Support the station in an outage support role as needed
- —Perform assigned Emergency Response Organization duties
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Adult Education, Education, Instructional Design, or related field
- —Five years of related work experience applying the Systematic Approach to Training in highly technical and high-risk environments (nuclear operations preferred)
- —Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- —Ability to work effectively as a team member
- —Ability to conduct training as an instructor and facilitator
- —Ability to conduct comprehensive self-assessments and recommend corrective actions
Desired
- —Detailed knowledge of INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operators) Accreditation process and NRC training requirements
- —Master's degree (M.S. in Instructional Technology or M.Ed. in related field)
- —INPO Mentor Certification
Location
Berwick, PA (Susquehanna Steam Electric Station); onsite position required.
