Inspection Services Training Instructor
About this role
Develop and deliver specialized training for nuclear inspection disciplines at Westinghouse, including Steam Generator primary and secondary inspections. Lead all phases of Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), serve as subject matter expert for field service personnel qualifications, and drive performance improvements through practical application of human factors, situational awareness, and risk management in operational environments.
Responsibilities
- —Instruct and facilitate training that strengthens performance through practical application of human factors, situational awareness, and risk management principles in operational environments
- —Design and deliver diverse training scenarios tailored to different learning factors to increase performance, error prevention skills, and risk awareness
- —Lead all phases of Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), including identifying course objectives, developing content, determining instruction strategies, and creating student materials
- —Conduct training evaluations, audits, and personnel qualifications based on OJT/TPE processes
- —Perform analysis of training needs and technical requirements for design and development of complex products
- —Support and mentor additional instructors, providing lessons learned and performance feedback
- —Identify, define, and direct approaches for resolving significant technical issues
- —Provide technical guidance to peers, vendors, and customers on inspection-related disciplines
- —Maintain training facilities at high-level readiness and coordinate scheduling logistics
- —Support mechanical maintenance and repair of training tooling and robotic inspection equipment
- —Evaluate and develop new or improved training products/services utilizing knowledge of training trends and technical developments
- —Coordinate technical documents and prepare materials for customer proposals
- —Develop procedures and processes for implementing training and technical requirements
- —Deliver presentations on status updates, problem resolution, and business improvement methodologies
- —Instruct technical and non-technical training programs for internal and external customers at plant sites and Westinghouse offices
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline; 5+ years of project field service experience with demonstrated classroom/training instructor experience; 5+ years of project experience in Steam Generator/Inspection Services field support, including steam generator primary and secondary inspections and reactor/piping inspections; demonstrated leadership experience and training material development skills; ability to select training methodologies, design, develop, and implement classroom processes that meet training requirements.
Desired
Experience leading training and operation/repair of robotic equipment utilized across multiple inspection platforms and services.
Location
On-site 5 days per week at Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA
