  • CAA Access and L or Q level security clearance

About this role

Advanced instrumentation & controls maintenance technician role at Urenco USA's commercial uranium enrichment facility in Eunice, NM. You'll independently perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on complex I&C systems, troubleshoot equipment issues, and mentor junior technicians while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Independently execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on instrumentation and control systems and equipment
  • Interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose and repair issues
  • Calibrate, functionally test, and troubleshoot process instruments and control loops using approved procedures and calibrated measurement tools
  • Diagnose and resolve faults involving field devices, 4–20 mA and discrete signals, control valves, PLC/DCS interfaces, and fire detection systems
  • Develop and update maintenance procedures, work instructions, and calibration schedules
  • Perform root cause analysis and failure mode analysis on complex equipment issues
  • Document work assignments, maintenance logs, repair reports, and trouble reports in real-time
  • Collaborate with planners, supervisors, engineers, and cross-functional teams to minimize downtime
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior technicians on maintenance tasks and procedures
  • Participate in installation, loop checks, functional testing, and commissioning of new or modified I&C equipment
  • Perform inspections, channel functional tests, and as-found/as-left documentation for I&C components
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for process enhancements
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials per environmental regulations
  • Participate in emergency response and troubleshooting activities as required

Preferred qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in instrumentation technology, industrial electronics, or related field
  • ISA CCST Level II, NCCER Instrumentation certification, or equivalent recognized credential
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills for identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to manage and coordinate complex maintenance projects and activities
  • Knowledge of project management principles, resource planning, and scheduling

Location, schedule, and travel

Eunice, NM; on-site. 9/80 schedule: Monday–Friday 6:30 AM–3:00 PM alternating with Monday–Thursday 6:30 AM–4:00 PM. Some nights and weekend work required. On-call 24/7 during designated team duty week for Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty. Travel ≤10%. Radiological exposure expected.
