Electrical Design Engineer - Instrumentation & Controls

Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Instrumentation & Controls at Urenco USA's uranium enrichment facility in Eunice, NM. Perform independent design analysis, owner acceptance reviews, and develop modifications supporting facility operations and engineering programs. Role involves 10 CFR 70 regulatory compliance and potential radiological exposure.
Responsibilities
- —Independently perform analysis and design activities for facility, engineering programs, and projects
- —Perform owner acceptance reviews of design packages developed by external design agencies
- —Develop design modifications and Plant Modification packages for facility changes
- —Conduct technical and quality reviews of engineering products, including 10 CFR 70.72(c) reviews
- —Perform field walk downs and engineering observations to support technical problem resolution
- —Develop and maintain knowledge of facility's design and licensing basis
- —Develop procedures and procedure revisions in support of program implementation
- —Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and project leadership to engineering personnel
- —Collaborate with management and other organizations to resolve technical issues
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university OR Professional Engineer (PE) License; 2+ years of related engineering work experience with instrumentation & controls systems; CAA Access and L or Q level security clearance
Desired
Master's Degree in Engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) License obtained by accredited examination; 5–6 years of related work experience, including 2 years in a nuclear facility
Location
Eunice, NM; 9/80 professional work schedule; 10% travel or less; on-site position with radiological exposure; Emergency Response Organization duty may be required with 24/7 on-call during designated team duty weeks
