Required qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering, OR High School Diploma/GED with 4–10 years of experience in: Navy Nuclear Operator, NRC Reactor Operator (RO) License, NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License, Plant-specific SRO Certification, Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Engineer, or equivalent commercial/civilian nuclear experience.
About this role
Westinghouse seeks an I&C Instructor to design and deliver initial and continuing education programs for licensed and non-licensed operations personnel across the AP1000® fleet and operating reactors worldwide. Instruction spans classroom, plant, and simulator environments, with focus on instrumentation and control systems training.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all stages of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process for initial and continuing education programs
- Analyze, design, and implement initial and continuous training needs in I&C specialty
- Design, develop, and deliver training sessions for licensed and non-licensed operations personnel in classroom, plant, and simulator environments
- Collaborate on simulator malfunction analysis and correction implementation, including required testing
- Coordinate training activities and support training committees and planning programs
- Define, develop, and maintain supporting documentation for assigned activities
- Develop and maintain advanced educational tools including simulators, multimedia, videos, and models
Preferred qualifications
Instructor experience; Navy Nuclear Instructor or Navy Nuclear Simulator Instructor background; working knowledge of Training procedures, INPO documents, and NRC regulations.
Location, schedule, and travel
Southwestern Pennsylvania (Madison, PA); hybrid role, typically 2–3 days/week on-site at manager's discretion.
