About this role

Field Service Technician I provides on-site reactor services at nuclear power plants and service centers, operating and maintaining specialized equipment including non-destructive examination (NDE) technology and robotic systems. Requires Unescorted Access status at nuclear facilities and extensive travel (50–70%).

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot reactor services field equipment at customer sites using NDE technology, robotic systems, cleaning processes, and computer networks
  • Perform Service Center support functions: equipment maintenance, facility/equipment decontamination, calibration, packing/unpacking, and shipment preparations
  • Review operational and maintenance procedures and drawings in detail
  • Support product engineering and training by performing equipment modifications, setup/testing, mock-up preparation, and process qualifications
  • Document equipment performance issues and ensure corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use
  • Participate in performance-based training programs to acquire and maintain certifications
  • Document all quality-related issues and perform assigned tasks under general supervision

Location, schedule, and travel

Chattanooga, TN site; 50–70% travel to remote nuclear power plants; on-site work with hazardous materials; requires Unescorted Access status at nuclear facilities
