Field Service Specialist
About this role
Westinghouse Field Service Specialist for baffle and clevis bolt replacement equipment at nuclear power plants worldwide. Lead small teams (3–6 technicians/engineers) through complex maintenance, repair, commissioning, and on-site operation of specialist field service equipment during planned outages. Serve as the primary subject-matter expert on equipment, processes, and auxiliary systems.
Responsibilities
- —Repair, maintain, commission, and test bolt replacement equipment and specialist field service equipment at nuclear plants
- —Support Product and Development Engineers during testing phases, including parameter development, validation, and troubleshooting
- —Operate bolt replacement equipment on-site at nuclear power plants worldwide, acting as shift/jump lead
- —Train new team members and subcontractors on bolt replacement equipment operation and procedures
- —Manufacture or modify electrical and mechanical components; assemble equipment and tooling
- —Collaborate across departments and internationally with teams in multiple countries
Qualifications
- —10+ years of hands-on operation and maintenance of bolt replacement equipment
- —At least 7 international assignments as platform worker (≥1), Tool Specialist (≥2), or Tool Operator (≥2)
- —Minimum 2–3 participations in baffle/clevis bolt replacement maintenance or similar complex field service equipment projects
- —Strong mechanical and electrotechnical aptitude; ability to read technical documentation (mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, procedures)
- —English proficiency: minimum A2 level; local language proficiency (Germany, Spain, Belgium): native or C1/C2 equivalent
- —Demonstrated problem-solving mindset, teamwork, and open communication
- —Willingness to travel internationally and work extended outage cycles in nuclear environments
- —Ability to work rigorously within nuclear safety procedures and compliance frameworks
Desired
- —Previous experience as shift lead or jump lead on baffle or clevis bolt replacement campaigns
- —Basic knowledge of computer systems, software installation, and networking
- —English proficiency B1 or higher
Location
Based in Mannheim, Germany. On-site operations at nuclear power plants worldwide with frequent international travel required; outage environment work.
