Supervisory role at Energy Northwest nuclear facility overseeing 8-40 craftspeople across maintenance, outage planning, and plant operations. Responsibilities include work scheduling, budget management, personnel development, and coordination with nuclear and commercial engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
Responsibilities
- —Provide leadership and supervision to Facilities/Commercial Engineering, Plant, and Nuclear Bargaining Units personnel; may supervise other supervisors and engineers during outage activities
- —Prepare, stage, and schedule assigned work to meet productivity, quality, and schedule expectations
- —Monitor field work execution and coordinate support to ensure proper completion and problem resolution
- —Provide estimates of person-hours and review work packages to ensure adequate support and scheduling
- —Select and assign appropriately skilled personnel to tasks and conduct pre-job briefings
- —Manage assigned budget, track deviations, and provide updates to management
- —Provide contractor and vendor oversight with feedback and coaching aligned to Energy Northwest standards
- —Coordinate with BPA, ASH Substation, Monroe control center, and City of Richland for electrical outages and emergent issues
- —Coordinate with HMIS, DOE, Property owners, PSRO, WWM, SM, SSS and security for site maintenance, plant equipment, and emergency systems
- —Create contract Scope of Work documents and change requests
- —Prepare work sites for scheduled activities to support safe, controlled performance
- —Monitor and assess work site status to identify and resolve problems in the field
- —Make minor work instruction changes and escalate schedule-impacting issues to Facilities Engineer
- —Ensure work packages are completed and closed in a timely manner
- —Review work documentation for accuracy, completeness, and objective achievement prior to closeout
- —Provide coaching and performance feedback to individual crew members and teams
- —Establish and monitor individual performance and training plans
- —Oversee On-the-Job Training (OJT) activities with observation, evaluation, and feedback
- —For outages: determine crew size, hire/termination dates, verify budgets and schedules, and ensure all required training is completed
- —Monitor individual and crew performance against standards and provide situational and periodic feedback
Qualifications
- —High school diploma or GED
- —Technical training or education acquired through an in-grade apprenticeship program for applicable discipline
- —Seven years of experience in assignments directly applicable to safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a facility or large plant
- —Demonstrated leadership and planning capabilities as normally obtained in a lead or shop engineer role
- —Experience in an operating facility in maintenance or related activities
